The Designer,
Heide Lasher, has made and sold art in various forms for as long as she can remember.
Her graphic work has been published in books and magazines and she has designed home accessories in the Denver area for 11 years. In 2008 she was asked to design Official pins for the Obama Presidential Inaugural Committee. Several of her pin designs are now part of the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Institution of American History.
The concept of
vintagechicjewelry.com
was born one day in 2002 as Heide browsed through her recently deceased, cherished grandmother's old jewelry. Each piece from times gone by was a special bit of art all on its own and the idea was born. Heide decided to design a new bracelet concept to adapt the vintage pieces-especially Gammy's old clip earrings- into modern, fun, sassy, whimsical wearable art forms.
Grandmother Gracie would have loved to know that the jewelry she treasured and the business she inspired has provided so much aesthetic pleasure to customers all over the world. When one door closes another one truly does open!
Please do enjoy and cherish your "jewelry with a history!" Feel good about wearing or giving recycled baubles that evoke nostalgia while giving modern pleasure to all!
